As the Digital Product Owner, you are end-to-end responsible for the strategic direction, technical delivery, and continuous improvement of the global web platform.
- Roadmap & Strategy: Define, evolve, and execute the product vision for the multi-brand ecosystem. Translate corporate and market goals into clear epics, features, and actionable user stories.
- Agile Development Lead: Partner closely with the development team to refine requirements and establish acceptance criteria. Lead all core sprint ceremonies (planning, refinements, reviews) and make vital scope and trade-off decisions.
- Agency Coordination: Direct and collaborate with an external content & configuration team handling day-to-day site operations across all 45 countries, ensuring they have the tools, documentation, and release alignment needed.
- Global Stakeholder Management: Act as the diplomatic, central point of contact for internal business units, global market leads, and external vendors, balancing diverse market maturity levels and regional priorities.
- Platform Governance & QA: Maintain strict governance across all 213 sites concerning reusable components, accessibility (WCAG), and brand compliance. Oversee regression testing, release validation, and performance monitoring.
Requirements
- Proven, senior-level experience as a Product Owner or Digital Product Manager overseeing high-volume website architectures in a complex, multi-market/global environment.
- Strong, hands-on understanding of enterprise content management platforms, specifically Optimizely CMS (formerly Episerver) or closely related enterprise CMS architectures.
- Deeply familiar with Agile/Scrum delivery models, engineering workflows, and managing highly integrated platform dependencies.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to align competing priorities from international stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Data & UX-driven, analytically minded, using user metrics, accessibility standards, and performance KPIs to back up roadmap prioritization.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory for this global operating model.
Offer
A temporary position (maternity cover) in Amsterdam (hybrid working is possible) for 24-32 hours per week. Start from August till mid March '27. Freelance/zzp is not possible for this assignment. You will work with a flex-contract via Independent Recruiters, which comes with a monthly salary of €6000 - €7000 (based on 40h per week) depending on the skills and experience you bring.
